Ben Silver, Doctoral Candidate
Ben is a 5th year Ph.D. student in the Psychology Department at Columbia University, working in the lab of Dr. Kevin Ochsner. He received an Sc.B. in Cognitive Neuroscience from Brown University.
His work in graduate school has focused on how motivation impacts various psychological processes, including impression formation, memory, and perception of political information.
Prior to graduate school, he worked as a lab manager at Weill Cornell Medicine with Drs. Rebecca Jones and Jonathan Power, investigating how autism spectrum disorder impacts behavior and neural processes, as well as ways to improve methods for fMRI data collection and data denoising. Before that, he completed a senior honors thesis at Brown with Dr. Dima Amso investigating executive functioning in young children.
